Doctor Evidence has created a best-in-class proprietary Library Management System (LMS) that uses automated tools and functionality to maximize the capacity to find, store and deliver relevant medical literature (citations, abstracts, and full-text). The end result for our clients is a private evidence portal that stores each client’s specific search results. The LMS is a web-based user interface that combines the functionality of a medical search platform with the functionalities of a content management system and a knowledge network to provide one highly integrated platform for optimizing search, storage, and retrieval, as well as peer-to-peer sharing.

The LMS was created to overcome deficiencies in currently used library search strategies. These deficiencies include frequent errors in the assignment of MeSH headings by Medline as well as the tagging accuracy of Medline. The LMS includes a bibliographic crawler and reference retriever – features often missing from current search strategies. As a result, use of the LMS for our clients results in an increase of relevant abstracts retrieved to over 90% compared to retrieval of only 50 to 60% of relevant abstracts using traditional search methods. In contrast to other delivery methods that include sending multiple separate files to the client, the LMS evidence portal makes the delivery of abstracts, upon completion of search and retrieval, seamless.
